INFP procrastination
Re: INFP procrastination
Entj asking infp how not to procrastinate? Lol
I think procrastination stems from a different source for us than for you.
Entj Te Ni Se Fi
Infp Fi Ne Si Te
Infp Fi dominant makes us retreat into our oblivion in order to process things. Its not that we procrastinate because were lazy, but because doing is not as important as "being"/thinking, to us. To me, at least.
For the Entj, the goal oriented CEO, chances are you already are pretty busy, sitting down and thinking a little won't kill you;)
Totally my opinion... But it feels extremely rewarding to master your inferior function - Te for me, Fi for you.
Exact opposites:)
Maybe that's why we get along...
Goodluck!

All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

i think my procrastination stems from perfectionism.when i think that whatever i'm doing has to be perfect, it makes me not want to start or finish it.

Re: INFP procrastination
I keep processing to a minimum, thereby removing the layer of separation between Reality and myself.
It makes things easier to do and get done. Just start; the rest takes care of itself.
I had a great laugh, last week, when Jesus explained what sort of guy Thor was:
"Thor's the kind of guy that when he decides to do something, IT GETS DONE!"

You reminded me of one guy who was working with me when I was working in a large pharmaceutical company. God, I hated him afterwards. LOL!crow wrote:I keep processing to a minimum, thereby removing the layer of separation between Reality and myself.

He was also like you in contact with "reality" than with himself. Deeply religious person too. He had a really bad income (barely enough to keep 1 person surviving...maybe not that much either)...but had a wife and third kid on the way. I was stupefied by the situation and asked how could he handle all of that? He said "God will feed my child". I was like "LOL okay, whatever". You know what happened a month later? He came to me to ask for money to help him with hospital bills that he had to pay for wife delivering a newborn. I said "Why do you not ask your God to pay the bill?". He hated me after that.
What can I say...stupid as stupid gets.
I left that company 4 month later. He probably still works there. This was back in 2004. Those are the days that are long forgotten. Strangely enough, these people are the ones who have the biggest political influence nowadays. And the country is in a complete "bleep"hole.

Re: INFP procrastination
Does it make you feel smarter to judge others as stupid? I suppose it does.
On the other hand, feeling stuff isn't the same as being stuff.

My judgment there was justified. Do I feel smarter? Well, I used to think that there was something wrong with me. But now I know that it is people who are wrong. And it is supported by evidence.crow wrote:Does it make you feel smarter to judge others as stupid? I suppose it does.
More cryptic speech. I have no idea what the hell are you talking about? On the other hand, feeling stuff isn't the same as being stuff.

Re: INFP procrastination
Perhaps the lack is yours, then. Investigate, rather than judge.

How can I investigate? You aren't making any sense most of the time. And I cannot read whats inside your head without your help.crow wrote:Perhaps the lack is yours, then. Investigate, rather than judge.

And you call me lazy?
Try something new: lay down your 'lethal weapons' and participate, without trying to score or control.
Who knows? There could be a pleasant chap in there, that even you don't know about.

I can't investigate because it's impossible. It's not about laziness.crow wrote:And you call me lazy?
Okay. Let's try it your way. You tell me what to do then.Try something new: lay down your 'lethal weapons' and participate, without trying to score or control.

It's what it is. No need to do anything with, or to it.
Information builds a picture, but does it slowly.
Patience is required to ever acquire an accurate picture.
Which is why most people make snap decisions, get it wrong, and then declare they don't care anyway.

I think I know what you are trying to do. You are trying to focus on how the effects of the outer world try to shape you from the inside. Rather than controlling it, you let it to control you and you build up your understanding based on it.crow wrote:It's what it is. No need to do anything with, or to it.

I understand that approach. Many times I face with it myself too. Just because I spring into action and try to achieve as much as I can, that doesn't mean that I always succeed. And that is the point where hard lessons...such as yours .... are taught.

Re: INFP procrastination
I'm not trying to do anything. That is the point, inasfar as there even is a point.
To try is to fail. Success happens all by itself, once you get out of your own way.
