I started to read the Giver, then completely forgot to keep reading. The other two, I also want to read. And speaking of Artemis, I finished the second one today! Just as good as the first!

Can you recommend any good books by foreign authors or written by people who aren't old, white, male, and English? It's also a school thing.

I'd recommend you read anything by me, but I am old, white, male, and English.
So you're out of luck there.

There is a book called 'Smilla's Sense Of Snow', which is oddball terrific.
I believe it is written by somebody old, white, female, and Danish.

It should serve to remind you never to read any book by anybody who isn't old, white, male, and English.

I sadly have not read it, you will have to let me know how it goes, I haven't been brushing up on my classics recently, it might not be bad to do so sometime soon

Okay, I just looked it up on Wikipedia and now I want to read David Copperfield. This is why I like this forum. :)

I just finished reading a novel I wrote twenty five years ago. Long enough to make it seem like the first time.
This is strong stuff. It has just about everything you'd look for in a life and death adventure/love story. And then some.
Sexual content and some occasionally questionable language. Twenty chapters :)

I don't really expect anybody to make it through to the end. As I recall, it's about 86,000 words. That's about 300 paperback pages.
Hard to read that much on a computer monitor.
So: good luck :)

At the moment I am "out of book". Thats ok. Looking forward to Christmas (having a child is doing that to you) and lokking forward to Christmas beeing over.
The last book I read was called Mistborn. It is quite a nice little fantasy-story. It has a well built storyline, interesting ideas concerning magic, and, like so many other fantasy books, it invites you to reflect.
