why is this forum still dead?

Post by YHWH » Wed Dec 15, 2010 6:21 pm

Since I've heard of its creation, I expected an INFP forum to boom with absolutely no effort, INXPs are the most common dwellers of the interwebz.
So why is this forum dead before its creation? What are the drastic changes that should occur for it start functioning?

I don't know. I've just pasted a link on TypologyCentral so we should see a few new members if the mods don't delete the link.

It's not easy to build up a community. The ENTJ forum is still pretty slow and it's been over a year I think.

We could send PMs to INFPs on other boards. I did that on PersonalityCafe, sent about 20 PMs.

The idea of an ENXX forum is absurd, it'd never pick up, the perfect environment for an ENXX is one made up of INXX types.
I dunno, I find the PM deal to be unethical; it's forgivable in PersonalityCafe though, it's a junkyard anyway.

From what I observed in forums debut, nothing really gets users motivated to post frantically and take charge of the forum except appointing a couple of them mods.

Edit: don't want my intentions to be misinterpreted: I'd never want to be mod.

The problem with INTP central is that you pasted the link in an old thread. You didn't create a new thread for your new forum.
How did you proceed on TypoC?

One other thing that you could do on typoC/personalitycafe/INTPc is to paste the link directly in your signature to advertise your forum, with something that attracts the eye and precise it is a "new" INFP forum.
Do you think they could ban you for that?

Dunno, I think it wouldn't be very cool. I wouldn't like it if someone advertised their forum on my forum except maybe subtly pasting a link in a topic or mentioning it.

It would be superawesome to have a link in an INFP profile to the INFP forum. I'll contact Typelogic and personalitypage and hope they will paste my link into the profile. As soon as I make an irresistible mail.

For now, the only source of new members is google, and word of mouth. We're the third result for "infp forum". :D

I keep thinking up topics, then tossing them aside because I think they won't provide much discussion and/or I don't want to be responsible for getting the thread to take off. I'm a bit busy at the moment!

Plus, I would hate to saturate the forum.

Well, I've managed to get a link from TypeLogic to our forum. That should get us a few members or move us up in the search engines.

Ok, I might send out the website's link to a few people.
I don't have many online INFP friends tho.

I for one came via TypeLogic just now :)
But I've had tendonitis in my arms so I can't be too active :(

Would you hate it if I saturated the forum? on days such as this, when I'm feeling "writey"?

The air feels stale around here. Am I the last person on this planet?
