I stumbled across this video one day and it seriously changed my life. I had watched other food documentaries before, Food Inc, Supersize Me, but... there is something about hard facts and numbers laid out in a clear, organized and concise manner that got to me in ways nothing else ever had. I watched this video, and changed my diet overnight. Problems I have had for many, many years with my body were gone within weeks.
My complete relationship to food changed. And you will understand why, if you watch this video. Yes, it is very long at 90 minutes. You'll have to set time aside for it, but I promise you that it will be worth it if you are intrerested in nutrition and your own health.
So, what this video is, exactly, is a recording of a seminar about Sugar held at the University of California by the professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Endocrinology. Thank god he is an excellent public speaker

Warning: One thing he does not mention is the effect of sugar on the brain. I had to find that out the hard way. It's a mood altering drug. And if you are used to it, and then take it away, you will go through something called sugar withdrawl. In my case that meant depression, but there can be many other symptoms, too. For me, it wasn't only a depression, but a really, really bad one, too. Keep that in mind. One must wean oneself of it, and keep close attention to ones own emotional states.
