You hear about the TPP? Neither did I.

What's happening on this little pale blue dot of ours...

You hear about the TPP? Neither did I.

Post by Entity » Mon Oct 05, 2015 10:35 pm

So I heard about this whole TPP thing, basically a trade agreement letting the big name companies do what they want unchallenged. (More specifically move to other countries for cheap penny-labor) Also, I heard that it'll suck for the environment, too, what with all the manufacturing pollution and furthering of corporate earth-crushing. I think that sucks for everyone except the big guys. Let's all do some research and discuss.

All my research tells me it's better to ignore things like that. Not my world. Not my companies. Not my attitudes.
Enjoy the world as it is before it isn't. Because it's all just inevitable no matter how upset people get.

I think capitalism is dead. TPP is just another nail in the coffin.

The world cannot function in the system where few people decide everything about everybody else. We had kings in the past...and it didn't work out.

I think the time of big corporations is coming to an end. 3D printing technology will put them out of their misery.

The age of Kings was about the only time it did work out, to the extent it worked out at all.
Now we've tried mob-rule, aka: democracy, and seen that it doesn't work at all.
Expect a retreat to an imperfect but superior system, sometime soon.

That line of thinking is what leads people joining to ISIS. I hope you are not one of them.

I disagree. I see nothing democratic in capitalism. Capitalism is inherently anti democratic system. The consequences of capitalism cannot be equated to democracy. In fact, democracy is the only system that will bring us out of this mess. We will do better than capitalism.

Being a left-wing drone is very bad for you. And bad for humanity as a whole. What you do in microcosm messes with the macrocosm.
In the same way you are so prone to project your own flaws onto anyone who is not you, so does the Left project its own failures onto proxies like capitalism, conservatism, monarchism, etc.
The Left has been thoroughly wrecking Western society for the past sixty years, yet it still claims itself as savior.

I'd like to like you, but I am unable to. Because there is no you to like. There is only a mob, raging at an enemy that is - in fact - itself.

You can step out of that mob, any time you like. It does take a bit of work, though.

The issue is, democracy can exist within socialism. I believe this spectrum:
Communism Socialism Capitalism Fascism

The two on the outer sides do not work and should not exist.
The middle two work, but have their flaws.
Democracy is a frail little butterfly, because it requires everyone to listen to each other. Has that ever really happened? Democracy may take its flight in the middle two, but it may falter in both. The left and right thing has been going to crap, so why don't we all just think our own thoughts without boxing them into broken little categories like "Democrat", "Republican", and "Libertarian".

Would that we could. Ego does not permit that. Ego is always right, in its estimation, so whatever stance it adopts becomes the only possible stance.
This is the very definition of politics in modern times: I am right and you are wrong.
No wonder it doesn't work.

Yep. Ego sucks, and pretty much all of us have it. The choice not to feed it is all down to the individual. Btw, I'm right.

Yeah, you're right.
But! Not all of us have it. Most, perhaps. But not all.
Have you ever considered what 'humility' is? Few do. Most think of it as something wishy-washy and bad.
In truth, humility is immensely powerful, simply by not trying to be.
It is the only counter to ego.

I try to be as humble as possible. It's hard. And I just said the I'm right thing for comedic effect. I hope that we can all delve into humility, maybe then the world would get a bit happier.

It won't get happier until you get happier.
Humility comes hard at first, but ends up being as transparent as seeing.
Spread the word.
And, BTW: humor is your greatest ally. It separates the living from the dead.

That'd be a great T-shirt slogan: "I'm more HUMBLE than YOU!"
