how do you shop?

Post by ambi » Fri Dec 24, 2010 11:51 am

i tend to know i'm hungry, and what i need, but i get overwhelmed sometimes when i land in a supermarket,
all those choices gets my head spinning. so after a mental rant, i make my way to the organic section, if its not there what i'm after, i buy the less fit for consumption variety and twaddle off with thoughts of the item perhaps being treated meanly

and i wanna scream at the world

My shopping is rigidly planned and prepared for. I like online shopping because of that.

I wander between the shelves for a little while, observing different products (food), wondering what I would need, what I would want. Eventually I take the same old things most of the time.

Doing shopping with me would be a pretty frustrating experience for a J.

We can't, not yet. I have to find a MOD and integrate it into the forum. I'll see if I can do it today or sometime soon. ;)

When it comes to food I usually just browse around, half shopping for specific ingredients and half just picking up stuff that seems cool/delicious.

For clothes I browse around until I find something that's "just right". Heh. It could take hours, and I might not even find anything.

Go down and isle, take what I need, onto the next - rinse and repeat.

On the topic of shopping, most malls make me uncomfortable. Usually the stores smell so fake, cold and unreal that it scares me. Especially shoe stores, those have the strangest smell. Also, living in Florida (which means a high rate of ugly people), you can see some of the grossest things that people do, notably letting their young children guzzle junk foods. I can tolerate most malls, but there's one near me that I absolutely abhor. It has a ton of minimally clothed old or fat people (not just normally fat, like full Murica fat), a ton of stores that sell stuff that people don't need, and the scorching Florida heat really doesn't help. It's not the shopping that I hate, it's the location.

You may have no real idea of how ugly people can be unless you live where I live.
Lucky you :)
Florida is certainly an odd place, though. I spent half a day there once, before I raced away, northwards, in a near-panic.

that seems kind of harsh :/ i mean sometimes it's more of a mental illness then just gluttony with obese people. I usually feel more sad then grossed out when i see people living like that.I hate shopping for clothes and i'm not a fan of the mall unless it's christmas and i'm buying presents for other people, thats fun....hm i also really enjoy grocery shopping if it's like whole foods, earth fair, fresh market, or just someplace with cool food.

Yeah, I suppose you never know the story behind anyone that you don't know. I do begin to feel sad, especially when people mistreat/misteach children. I too love buying things for other people, it's a lot more satisfying.
