Did we stop? I didn't. Although I don't look at them as much as I used to.
Celestial Navigation was something that I had to do, like it or not, at sea.
Gave me a great appreciation for the wonder of the night sky.

I dunno, it just seems like the world has started running full speed ahead without a thought, nobody wants to stop and look at the world or the stars or the ocean anymore, and I just find it sad, the material world seems to have such a hold on everyone and the wonder and magic of the universe seem to have just faded into obscurity, there are no more monsters in the mist, no more joy is brought about from looking at the twinkling lights in the sky, all there seems to be is an fear of the people at the bank and everyone is staring at the twinkling of their tvs where the world is the perfect soap box.

World-of-people vs The World.
People suck, I'm afraid, and that's the way it is.
Still, don't let that stop you from finding pleasure in The World.

I think light pollution has a lot to do with it. I've lived in the suburbs my whole brief life, and it's very hard to see any more than three stars. I love the stars, though, and I would love to live somewhere where I could see many of them.

Go camping, as in tent and sleeping bag, up high. Above 3000ft, the air is thinner, and there's no more people lights.
Gets cold though, even in summer.
You don't have to live there

I'm hoping my family can do such a thing. I'm not in any sort of Boy Scout program where they do that sort of thing, so I haven't truly been camping. I do have a friend who lives in an opportune spot for hiking and going to the mountains, so if I could meet with her, it would be great.
