Happy World Toilet Day!

Post by crow » Fri Nov 20, 2015 12:15 am

You'd be amazed at the sheer number of special days where people get to raise their awareness of absurd things that anybody with a life would have no conceivable interest in, or reason to.
We're all supposed to feel guilty, now, for having a toilet, because there is someone, somewhere, who doesn't have one.
While, at the same time, indulging in the latest must-do thing while taking a poop: to network and play games with, other people who are taking a poop.
While, of course, decrying one's own privilege for being able to take a poop so comfortably.
Whatever happened to the idea of simply being grateful for what one has?

Oh yes? Well, what do I know? It's not my usual area of expertise, but it was the first time I'd run across it.
I suppose I should get out more, but I'm not gonna.

I just meant that some days are shit. But if there are multiple days for that, it's what I meant the whole time!

Ah. Your humor is obscure, as mine often is. All is revealed.

Apparently, Toilet Day was-is used to break the taboo of pooping, so that sanitation advancements could be made. It sounds to me like people got caught up with the pity part instead of the science part. I heard just a little bit more from a science YouTube channel, and that made me reach this conclusion. Infallible evidence, I know.

Emotion trumps everything else - even science - in these modern times. Well, almost:
I read, today, that scientists had discovered the answer to people who always felt hungry.
They should, so the study concluded, eat more.
