Are you a healer?

Post by Healer379 » Sun Sep 27, 2015 2:39 pm

I'm just curious:)

How many of you actually want to be "healers"?

I've recently realized (this is how I finally concluded that I am an infp.. I used to think I was enfp, intp)
That I hate work (I love to teach and nurture.. But children don't stimulate me enough) and all I'd want yo do with my life is heal people from their burdened, suffering selves.

I don't have too many "magical" powers... And I'm not your typical cat lady either... Plus I'm working on being more sensitive in general...
(As in, I'm totally in tune with the other person's emotional state, hence not an intp, but I'm too assertive at times to allow people to simply be)

But I'm curious. We're called healers. How many of us actually do it?

The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

I want to help other people by any means possible, whether it's social work, homeless shelters, counselling, or anything else. I think the Healer part stems from our typically strong empathy and will to help others. If we do it or not depends on our choices.

Yes, I am a healer. But people resist the kind of healing I may offer.
I specialized in reflexology for a few years, but many are the ways...
Interestingly, INFJ is often known as the intuitive counselor, and I can see why.
Really, though, I can not be bothered with the general mess humanity is in.
Which is one reason I remain utterly sane in a comprehensively insane society.

Generally it is both more productive, and more difficult, to heal oneself, rather than attempt the alternative.

Ah. I wish you can learn the functions... There's so much INFJ ness in the way you relate to yourself, its a shame not to fully understand the beauty and the challenges.

Totally doesn't belong on this thread but I'm in the mood to type it anyway.

In general, there are four perceiving functions, and four judging functions.
Perceiving functions are the way you take in info.
Judging functions are the way you determine decisions.

You can perceive either in an introverted/extroverted intuition, or introverted/extroverted sensing way.

You can judge in either introverted/extroverted thinking or introverted/extroverted feeling.

We all have all 8 functions, in order of dominance.
The INFJs dominant function is Ni which makes you just know stuff. That coupled with Fe which is your next function makes you know intuitively about people in a way that no other type can.
However it can be a stumbling block in the sense that Fi is one of your lower functions - understanding and healing your own self.

Well, I was certainly a right mess until I wasn't. Intuition is my elixir of life. I do not think. I can, but I almost never need to.
Thank you for your explanation, but there is nothing I need, or lack.
By the way: as I type this, I am at the end of a week with Jesus. He came to stay, from Denmark. A surreal experience!
Tomorrow, he leaves again. Which is fine. Jesus isn't something you need too much of.

If you take it out of context, the quote "you can never have enough Jesus mr. crow" is really confusing. I like it that way.

To explain: having Jesus in your living room is a complete experience in itself. The kind almost nobody will ever have.
However, it being a complete experience, nothing normal gets done.
I get my life back, tomorrow.
Meanwhile, it is one of life's truly unique and memorable events.

Wait a second, what was Jesus doing in Denmark? I'm very interested.

I'm pretty sure he stops by the nicer places of the world on the occasion, I mean being Jesus he has the will to go wherever he wants, why not go to some enjoyable places, not like the world has started ending quite yet, he has a decade or two of vacation time

He only suspects he is Jesus, right now, but next year he'll be 30. Then you'll see some fireworks.
I encourage him all I can. Never seen the like, before, and likely never will again.

Yeah, I would go visit Denmark if I were Jesus. Heck, if I was Jesus I would go everywhere. Including space. Interterrestrial saviour time. Tell Jesus we wish him luck. He likely could be Jesus, since he's not really owning up to it and boasting.

"And The Lord Jesus moved among the multitude assembled there, boasting as he went..."
I had to laugh at that idea

He's actually a Dane, although, apart from his accent, you'd never know it, his English is so good. Especially when he writes.

Well, I may have been wrong about the boasting thing. :)
