Re: Unhealthy INFP?

Since MBTI is meant to describe the normative types, the flaws listed for INFPs are often more for describing low points in an otherwise "healthy" individual. PersonalityPage lists "potential problem areas": http://www.personalitypage.com/html/INFP_per.html SimilarMinds has a lot of negative qualiti...

Re: Stupid question, how do you guys EAT?

I totally love food, and I focus entirely on my food when I eat & may eat rather quickly. I don't like to talk between bites because then I find myself unable to focus on the taste. Generally, I am that way in most sensory experiences; I have to make a conscious effort to focus on it solely in order...

Fi as a thought process

This is from a now-defunct cognitive process test. How do you relate to these descriptions? Which part(s) resonate most? How might you modify these to suit you better (if it all)? Discuss! I personally found this to be a pretty good summary of what it is like to use Fi, as much of it highlights how ...

Re: INFP differences

Well, I'm not people-oriented either (no so unique, eh? :P ). That saying "I love humanity, but I hate people" sums up my attitude well. I'm not much interested in "service" jobs either. As an expressed introvert, people annoy me very quickly. I'm more idea/concept/creatively oriented. Serving peopl...

Re: Which movie did you just see?

I saw Avatar a few weeks ago, after my sister assured me it was not as lame as it appeared (neither of us are sci-fantasy fans), but I still hated it. About 30 min in I was bored to death. I think I started reading a book and tuned out most of the bad dialogue, cliche plot "twists", overly long acti...

Re: Are INFPs religious or atheists?

I'm spiritual/religious/theist. I don't know where you get the idea that NTs & even all Ns are usually atheist. Most Ns I know are not atheist at all, and I know many who are quite religious. I'd say like attracts like, which may be why you meet many who are atheist.

Re: Hey

^ I'm mostly obsessed with cognitive function theory (especially Jung's work). I think it stems from a general interest in how people's minds work, including my own. Enneagram is also a big interest of mine. The obsession began when after taking an online MBTI test for the gazillionth time, I decide...

Re: Hi, my name is admin, NOT A BOT POST :)

A friend of mine who claims he's an INFP but is obviously an INTP said this was creepy and it was like Hitler making a house for Jews or something insulting like that. No, really, that would be ESTJs :P On a random note, Siouxsie Sioux (see avatar; singer of influential 80s punk/goth band) is...

Re: INFP fears

The closest thing I have to a phobia is mild social anxiety, aka "shyness". This seems common enough in INFPs, although certainly not all INFPs are shy.

Re: ENTJ + INFP

I don't know very many ENTJs IRL. I can think of two men I know who likely are ENTJs, but they are old & ministers & rather balanced/mature individuals because of it. I suspect a guy I went to HS with is ENTJ also, and he was nice, quite smart & witty - sort of a "popular nerd", if you know what I m...

Hey

Nice to have another INFP online community. I post A LOT on several other MBTI boards under another name "OrangeAppled".
Thought I'd go for a new name this time.

I've been into MBTI heavily for the past 2 years now; the obsession has yet to wane.
