Well the Scands are still pretty Social Democratic. The German state is gradually running more and more things. The idea may be dead in Americas dog eat dog World, but it isn't dead here. The young generation are swinging to the left in Europe. Britain especially.
Unless you live in Scandinavia...Social Democracy is my kind of Leftism and it exists right there. Not a bad bunch of people either. Britain has an NHS which has been completely Socialist and still survives from the late 1940s. Some things are just better ran by the state and health, postal services...
